Santronics Software, Inc.,
Wildcat! Windows Services

(Note: The term "Windows Services" was formerly called "NT Services" by Microsoft. Both terms may bv used throughout the documentation to reflect to same thing - Wildcat! applications running as Windows Services on all supportive Windows operating systems.)

The Wildcat! Server and the Wildcat! hosting applications can run as Windows Services. This allows Wildcat! to operate in non-desktop mode and does not require any user to log on the local machine or network domain. This is the recommended mode of operation for Wildcat!. Since the security is elevated, Wildcat! experiences less or zero security issues when starting up.

The default installation is for a local machine Wildcat! Server dependency. You have an option to install client services without the server dependency.  See the SetWildcatServices.cmd batch file.    This allows running the Wildcat! server on another network machine and run wconline.exe on the local or another other machine.

Batch files were provided to help you install Wildcat! as Windows services.  See Wildcat! Windows Service Installation
